Our poor little Brookie B sure gave us a scare this last week. If it's not one thing, it's another right? We had to take a trip to the ER last week, a week almost to the day after she broke her leg.
The poor little thing had a Febrile seizure on our way to the doctor's office. After many hours of sitting, and all sorts of fun things, and x-rays and waiting, and waiting some more, we finally got them to come in and tell us she was RSV positive. Great. The kid can't catch a break. She was so lethargic from the super high fever, and her chest sounded so bad, they were *this close* to admitting her to the hospital. Luckily we were able to consult with her doctor and he had us do a breathing treatment with her to get her O2 levels back up, and then watched her stats to see how she did. Thank goodness she improved enough to come home. I think the fact we only live 2 blocks away helped too, otherwise they probably would have kept her just to be safe.
This is why I have been scarce lately. She's been back and forth to the hospital for breathing treatments the last couple of days, and it's been some loooong sleepless nights. I think I am getting by on caffeine and sugar highs...yikes. So much for the diet. Thanks stress. I'll charge you for the extra 4 pounds later.
But hopefully she's on the mend. I think it peaked last night. She sounded the worst at about 4 am. Today she has been sounding ok, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that between now and the weekend, this thing clears up!!
