The Crazyness of it all

Aren't you all so glad you get to listen to me complain about my blog? I know you are. So listen. Ok, so I need someone smart. I know one of you has to be. I had changed my page background to this cute brown/light blue flowery thing, but it was like...WAY too much. So then I changed it again to this really cute birdie background, but you can only see the very edges of it, and the background for my blog title is still the way too flowery flower thing. Does that all make sense? It does to me...haha.
So someone that knows how to fix my problem, comment and tell me!!
As for now, it's going to stay the way it is. Cute, but not quite what I'm going for. I really mostly want to get rid of the blue/brown flowers on my blog title.

Headache

Blogger is totally stressing me out today! Maybe it's my internet that's having problems, I don't know. But I can't do ANYTHING! I try to save a change, and it gives me an error message, then my internet freezes up and closes on me. UGGHH!! SO. I am quitting for the day. I give up, and if I get brave, might try again tomorrow. At least it's letting me post...
Look for the positive right?!

Yikes!

Um....crap. So I tried to put on a different background for my blog, and did it, but didn't like it. So when I put my old one back on, all my stuff on the side was gone!!!! So...uh...help. I don't know what I did. I'm working on fixing it, so it might be a while before I am posting again. It's buggin' me. I had it "just right" ya know? So annyway...ta ta for now.

Nothing Really

I really don't have anything to post today, except that I've been sitting at my desk at work for the last 2 hours with a sleeping child on my shoulder. It's the best. And the worst...I'm definitely going to make Jason give me a shoulder massage when I get home, but how awesome is it that 1) I can take my daughter to work with me, and 2) she's been asleep for 2 hours!!
It rocks. She's making up for last night, she was up like 5 times between 11:30-12:30 am. I wanted to die. Then she slept for like 3 hours before she got up for the MORNING...and didn't go down for her nap till 1:30....haha. Oh well. I don't need sleep right? HA!

Anyway...I'm just loving that I get baby snuggles during the most boring part of my workday.

Someone catch her!

So there I was...at the Doctor's office, having an ingrown toenail cut out. Lovely I know. Let me tell ya, it was seriously so painful. So I'm sitting on the exam table, with my foot up, and there are two little nurse ladies over there getting needles out...yikes. So I'm asking them all sorts of questions about the numbing stuff.

ME: so is this going to hurt really bad?
NURSES: um, yeah, I've been told it's pretty painful...
ME: (greeeaaattt)

So they give me this stress ball to squeeze and tell me to take deep breaths. So I'm breathing.
They wrap a rubber band around my toe..., and tell me its to keep the anesthetic in longer. It's lovely.

NURSES: You'll feel a sharp poke and then quite a bit of burning.
ME: :(

I'm deffinitely feeling a burn...and then my toes is completely numb...the strangest feeling ever.
Then the doctor comes in, and explains things to me. Tells me I will feel alot of pressure, but there shouldn't be any pain with it.

ME: (watching)
DOC: This is where I'd turn away if I were you.

So I look the other way, till the nail is out. No big deal, totally not as bad as I was expecting. They wrap me up, and tell me I'm good to go. So I sit up, grab my sandal, and my purse off the chair, and walk out to the front office to pay. I hand my card to the lady, and I was feeling a little dizzy...but thought it would pass, like when you stand up too fast. I'm waiting for her to be done with my card (she's taking forever.) And all the sudden my body totally freaked out....

ME: I'm feeling a little dizzzzz......
SOMEONE ACROSS THE ROOM: Someone catch her!!!

A few minutes later....

ME: (very confused) what happened?
NURSE: you turned white as a sheet and passed out.
ME: I did what??

The walked me back to the table and made me lay down and drink some water and gave me a sucker...(seemed kinda random, and I hate suckers...but I did it anyway).
A few minutes later, I sat up and said, ok, I think I'm good to go. The nurse informed me I was still pale as could be, so she made me lay back down. All in all, I had to stay an extra 40 minutes, till I could walk out. And even then they had someone walk me to my car.

It was so much fun. I would have posted really disgusting oozy pictures of my toe, but I will spare you all. Thank me later. It's now healing lovely. A little black and blue, but it has stopped oozing finally. Maybe I'll take a pic in a few days.
And let me tell ya, as soon as that anesthetic wore off, the pain was seriously worse than child birth. I kid you not. It was like 40 million bee stings all throbbing and stinging and hurting....

But now I can wear normal shoes again!!

Adventures in wax

So pregnancy does weird things to ones body. It changes everything. I'm a totally different shape now. My feet are a half size larger. I feel wider, and hairier. I know, that might be TMI. But it's very true. So, in order to combat that last one, I went out and got me some wax.
I've never waxed before, so this was an adventure...that quickly turned into a painful and unpleasant experience.
Why do people wax? Yikes. Maybe next time I will just go get all the hairs lasered off!!

Anyway...my upper lip is now hair free, and feeling lovely, after looking like I got stung by 3 or 4 bees there for a while. I haven't decided if I am going to do that again. Maybe when I start looking like I need a shave again!! UGH!!
At least I can deal with the wide-ness, and big feet. Not much I can do about that anyway! Unless I want to start wrapping my feet!!

YIKES!! I think I will be just fine with my big wide "Hobbit Feet." Thank you very much.

A good time

I've been a bit behind on the whole blogging thing lately, thus the bazillion posts in the last couple of days. But I forgot I had a cute picture from our Third Annual Geddes Family Labor Day Bear Lake trip! And you heard right, A cute picture....as in ONE. Leave it to me to forget to charge the camera battery before we go on a fun trip! So this is the one and only picture from our fun day at the beach.
We ended up leaving a little early because a storm came through and we were all sand blasted. The wind was blowing so hard. The sand was everywhere. But on the bright side, our skin was exfoliated!! Makayla loved it, ate a couple of handfulls of sand, dipped her feet in the water a few times. We didn't really let her play in the water all that much, as Walmart was out of swim diapers, and we didn't want to deal with the HUGE SOGGY BUM. But she still had a blast!

Important

I heard about this family on some of my blogger friends blogs, and it was also on the news the other night. They are in Arizona. Their story is so sad, but it is amazing what support they are getting from total strangers, via the world wibe web. So I have decided to join the support, by putting a "button" link on the right side of my blog. It links you to paypal, where you can donate to their family. They are acuumulating medical bills that will be in the millions, so any little bit helps.

Here is a link to their blog. http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/

**forgot to mention what happened. Her husband is a pilot, and was taking lessons. They went up for a plane ride with their instructor, in a small plane, and it crashed. The instructor was killed. Christian Nielsen was seriously injured, burns over 20% or so of his body, and his wife Stephanie was burned over 80% of her body. They are in critical condition.

Aww, babies!

Aren't new babies the cutest most precious things in the whole world!? It's crazy to think when looking at a newborn, that your own small child used to be THAT small!
There's just nothing like them. The smell, the sounds, the faces, jerky movements, you could stare at them all day long.

So without further adieu, I present to you, Emma Whyte. Makayla's newest relative!!

She is the brand new daughter of my bestest cousin Anne, and her husband Mike.
Congrats guys!!

Sad News, and happy news

So as many of you probably know, and some of you probably don't, Jason is student teaching this semester. He's really enjoying it. But it means a full semester of being totally and completely broke. He doesn't have any free time to work until Dec. This couldn't be happening at a worse time. And I will tell you why.

Jason's Grandfather in Illinois (who sealed us in the Temple) has been in the hospital for almost 4 months now. He went in for a simple surgery to have a growth removed, and its just been one complication after another, to now they are saying he could go any day. He has developed that horrible staff infection called MRSA. They signed a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) the other day.
That's bad news #1. Here's bad news #2.

Jason's sister in Illinois about a month ago started having really bad headaches that would make her sick, and she started seeing double. So they took her in for some tests and an MRI and all that. They found a tumor on her brainstem. The doctor said it was cancer and inoperable. So then she went to another doctor, and he did a spinal tap and said it wasn't cancer, but there is a growth and they don't know what it is. Some what of a relief. So she went home on some steroids, and after a week started having symptoms again, and getting worse. So they decided to do a biopsy. That meant a 6 hour surgery. When they got the results back from that, we all found out that it was indeed cancer, and was a Grade-4 Glioblastoma (i think thats what it was called) on her brainstem, and is inoperable. This is 3 weeks after she was first told she didn't have cancer. So after all that waisted time, she will finally start Chemo and radiation next week. And all this time, Jason and I have been feeling completely helpless all the way out here. All we can do is pray, and fast.

Here comes the good news part...
So we told my family what was going on, and how we were just sad we couldn't get out there before the semester ends, etc. My sister in law Kristi asked if we wanted to have a family fast this weekend. We thought that was an excellent idea. So we all fasted. We went to church, paid our tithing (which i now have a much stronger testimony of...but that's another story). Anyway, long story short, we were over at my parents house playing Boggle (don't laugh at us word nerds, it was a blast!) and my mom came out of her room with an envelope for us. Jason opened it, and out spills a huge wad of cash. My brother and his wife and my parents paid for us both to fly out to see Jason's family. We both just cried like babies. And as luck would have it, UEA weekend is in a month. So we are flying out in October. We wish it could be sooner, but if we didn't go then, we probably wouldn't be going till after the new year. We can't believe what an awesome family we've been blessed with.
I'm 100% positive this is a blessing of paying tithing. If we hadn't been doing that, we could have flown out there a long time ago. But we pay every month, and just prayed that we'd --1) make it through the semester without going into too much debt, and 2) find a way to visit family.
PAY YOUR TITHING PEOPLE.

So anyway, we called Jason's parents last night and told them what happened and they both started to cry.

And I better quit while I'm ahead, cause I'm tearing up and my contacts are all sorts off messed up!
So keep his sister in your prayers for us, we still don't know the full extent of things, like if she's been given any sort of timeline. We've been reading up, and apparently its not that great.
We will post updates as we get them.

We have lift off

Makayla has discovered that she can move. And when she wants to, can move FAST! She learned to crawl last Monday (Labor Day) out of the blue. Just got up on all fours, put one hand out in front, scooted a bit, and then she was off. It was the cutest thing, and I was so proud. Then we realized we are not baby-prooffed! Yikes. So, that's our chore this week. I'm trying to figure out how to get video downloaded from our phone onto the computer. If any of you are smarties and know how to do this let me know. Then you can all witness her first wobbly venture across our messy living room floor!

Pictures to come later...
