Flashback

Wow...today is crazy!! So a couple of months ago, I got talked into getting a facebook account. It's like the best thing ever, and now I am totally hooked. Anyway, so you are able to search for people on there and request them to add you as a friend, and I had searched for a bunch of my old New Jersey friends that I hadn't heard from in like 15 years. I found like 1 person, just cause I don't know where any of them are now, and don't know what their married names are, etc...tricky. BUT I did find a family friend from back in the day, and her mom and my mom are like besty buddies. They are so funny when they get together. They hadn't heard from each other in about 15 years, and found each other on facebook too, and they called and chatted it up for a couple hours. So anyway. Today, my mom and I are going to lunch with Sara! She's my younger brother's age, so she's probably like 2 years younger than me. We just talked on the phone and figured out that the last time we saw each other I was probably about 8, and she was about 6. How crazy is that!? I'm 27 now!! That's like 20 years!
So...after I take Makayla to the doc, and hopefully a happy visit there... we will be meeting her at Olive Garden! I am soooo excited! Turns out she lives down in Layton, only like an hour away! All this time. So crazy how things like this work out.
I'll make sure to take some pics and post them this week. She's bringing her little boy Lucas with her, so he and Makayla should get along great! He's almost 2, she's 15 months.
And, I'm off!!

Cancer sucks

So...i think the title of this post says it all. Cancer sucks. I'm not sure I could even find someone that actually likes cancer. But I think if you have someone in your life that has it, you hate it even more. It is a horrible, horrible disease.
My husband's sister was diagnosed with a brain tumor in August. She'e been through some pretty rough patches with it, but the last 2 months or so, have been pretty good for her. She got off all of her meds, except her chemo. She was off steroids completely, and was starting to feel better. She still had some facial paralysis, and some other vision problems, but we were all thinking she was doing pretty well.
She was supposed to be on a plane coming out to Utah this morning with Jason's dad. We were going to be celebrating Austin's graduation, and spending the whole weekend with family. I guess this whole week she has been having severe headaches and been vomitting all week, so they moved her scheduled MRI up to last night. They got the preliminary readings around midnight last night and it showed some swelling around the tumor, and some other things, but they said they weren't going to have a full read of the scan until later this morning. So we got the call a few hours ago. Not good news. The cancer has spread to the entire front part of her brain. She has alot of swelling around the tumor, and there's really nothing they can do. They are going to be sending her home with morphine for the pain.
Today is the worst day ever. We don't know yet how long exactly they are expecting her to make it. The initial diagnosis back in August was about a year, if everything went well. It's been 8 months.
So send prayers and good thoughts for Cassie.
We love you Cass!! See you soon!

Outside

We did it! We made it outside for a walk today and actually felt hot! Went on a 2 mile walk, and had to take off my jacket, cause I started sweating! Even though it was only like 50 degrees. It was SOOOOO nice!!! It totally recharges my battery to get out and move around.
That's all. I was just happy to be out in the sun today!
Tomorrow, we are going to the library for story time!
