Lately

We've had a bunch of things going on lately, trying to get ready for this new house, and all that goes with it...
We decided to take Makayla's bed and sand it down and paint it white, so it would be all cute and ready for her new room. It turned into quite the project, and took most of the day, since half the bed we ended up having to do by hand. We got one coat of paint on, and it still needs one more, then it will be done! Jason sanded, I painted. It rocked.

This was Makayla trying to block Brooklyn from coming outside. I couldn't resist. It was super funny.
We also realized that we will now have two separate living rooms, one upstairs and one down. And since we only had one set of couches, you see the problem. We didn't really want to move in and be sitting on the floor, in an empty room. So we took advantage of some really super awesome Memorial Day sales and bought a new sofa/love seat set!! We love them. However, it was the ONE set of couches in the store that did not come with cute pillows. So any pillow suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance. ;)

So I guess that's it. I thought we had done something else, but the last two weeks are a jumbled mess in my head. All I have to go by are the pictures I took, and I didn't take very many unfortunately. But guess what...we will have 2 guest rooms and couches now for people to come stay!! So DO IT! But maybe sometime after July...;)

Rice Pudding and two farewells

I have rediscovered my love for Rice Pudding, and have made it probably way more lately than I should be, seeing as how me and Makayla are basically the only ones that eat it! Can you tell that she likes it? She needed two spoons to get the maximum amount of food in her mouth at once.

Then we celebrated Jason's birthday on the 15th! He was kind of spoiled this year! ;)
And...I did not give him a candle, that was thrown in a gift bag to throw the weight, and keep him guessing. He's the biggest snoop, and a reaaaally good guesser.

and my poor mom in the background a day or two before going in for surgery on her arm.

My dad's last game as head coach of Sky View's boys soccer team. 16 plus years, it was finally time to say goodbye. He will still be coaching the girls team.

And perhaps the saddest farewell of all. We sold my little Honda Civic this month. I seriously cried when I watched it drive off down the street, with someone else behind the wheel, never to return...sheesh...I'm gonna start crying again. Who knew someone could be so attached to a car!? It was my baby, it carried my first baby for the first 2 years....lots of awesome memories in that little car. She took good care of us for 10 years! So long old friend.
