She's 4!!!!!!

I cannot believe it has been 4 years since Makayla decided to join our family in the weeee hours of the morning January 29, 2008.  Although it also feels like she's been with us forever.  We just love her and her sweet spunky self.
Last year she asked for a heart cake, and this year she's been all about rainbows.  I think it has something to do with her pre-school, which has the rainbow as their logo.  Just a few weeks ago we did rainbow sugar cookies. So this year, she asked for a rainbow cake AND rainbow cupcakes.

Here are the colors all sorted out.

And the cakes are done!

Taking a few birthday calls while helping me bake.
 The rainbow cupcakes!
They looked kind of cool on the outside, almost like tie-dye.  The inside looked awesome though.
Some birthday decorations, and the Christmas decorations are still up...I'll get those down someday...I hope.

Birthday girl with her rainbow cupcakes!
More birthday phone calls!  She didn't want me to take her picture while she was on the phone...haha.  Too bad!
 Some of her loot!

A little arm wrestling.  Kayla was the judge.
Party girls with some Polly Pockets!
And the rainbow cake.  It didn't quite turn out how I had expected and pictured in my head, but it was still cute, and Makayla loved it!!
We love you K-bug!!  Glad you had a happy birthday!!

Slow Going

Well, it's been pretty slow around here...as far as anything worth blogging goes.  Our typical day now is anything BUT slow and boring...the dog makes sure of that.
But we haven't done much the last few weeks since Christmas.  We're winding down, settling into our routine again, which is SO nice.  Kayla is back in school, Brooklyn is taking naps again (hallelujah), and walking now!!
Harley keeps us on our toes 24/7.  She will find the teeny tiniest little things and chew them, she'll steal shoes and run away as fast as she can to chew them downstairs, with us chasing after her.  I think that's her little game she likes to play with us...see how far she can make it before we catch her.  I'll be glad when we start puppy training next month, and for the puppy stage to hurry up and get over with!!
And now...for some random pics of our every day lives.

Brooklyn's usual face when pushing her shopping cart at full speed.
Makayla giving me some poses.  I don't know where she got that, but it was funny.
The girls helping me make some fun sugar cookies.
 Some of our creations.
Kayla getting tickled by the Brookie monster!
Harley trying to eat the camera cord while I try to take her picture.  Always something in her mouth.
And me and goofy-gus, hangin' on the couch tonight.
That's pretty much it for now.  Jason and I got a couple new books we have been wanting to read, now we just have to try and find time to do it when kids and puppy are in bed!

New Words

No pics for this post, our camera is still....well, pretty much broken.  I just had to write down some of Brookie's new words, and pronunciations.   I just laughed hysterically at her saying "mouth."  She pronounced it "fowf."  Here are a few more:
Nose: "Nooo."
Thank you:  "date dooo."
Harley:  "aweee."
Asleep:  "ashweee."
Where's Daddy:  "A-dadeee?"
Where's puppy:  "ba-puppy?"
walk:  "walk, walk, walk, walk, walk..."  :)

And here's one from Makayla from tonight that I laughed at.
Taxi:  "taski."  Love it.

There are a few more, but those are my faves right now.  Mouth and thank you being my very favorite.
