Egg Huntin'

We went down to SLC on Saturday for a few hours for the annual Horrocks Easter egg hunt on the Capitol grounds. When we left our place, it was sunny, and warm and looked promising...
But no. When we got down to the Capitol, we froze our little tushies off. I felt so bad, cause we had just cleaned out the car of all our misc. blankets, jackets, etc...which would have been really helpful. So Grandpa Glen ran home to grab Jason and Ashley a jacket. But regardless, it was a really fun time. We had a little lunch, and then the kiddo's all ran out and found Easter eggs, and had a blast. Makayla was giddy, she could hardly wait.

This is Jason telling Makayla that he'd better "test" the candy for her first. haha.
My loves.

Me and Brookie trying to stay warm.
I don't know what this face was all about. I started laughing after I took it, cause it was so silly.
This was at Toys R Us, this thing was huge! Something like 21,000 Lego bricks, and abt 170 hours to put together. So cool.

Coloring Easter Eggs later that day.
She prefers no top to wearing an apron...so lady like.

Latest and Greatest

There hasn't been much going on lately in our little world besides house hunting, and more house hunting. Great fun.
But we DID manage to swap car seats this last week. Makayla moved into the booster, (even though she's still a little under the weight recommendation...) and Brooklyn moved into Makayla's toddler seat, and is definitely NOT underweight...haha. We call her Brookie Monster. She eats a lot.

So here is Makayla all happy to be in a new seat. She managed to get chocolate smeared into the arm rest after about 1 day. Awesome.

Wearing her new princess hat from Grandma Geddes. I think it might start attaching itself to her head, she wears it so much!

Brooklyn looking all grown up in the toddler seat, and chewing on Dad's EMT badge thingy. Where did my baby go!?
And this was little miss today playing peek-a-boo with me. She was getting a kick out of me taking the pic right AFTER she disappeared behind the wall, and me shouting..."NOOOooo!
Missed again!"
HA! Got one!

Let's hope for a slightly more exciting weekend, and ALOT less rain please. We're getting water-logged here. Plus, we're hoping for an Easter egg hunt on Capitol hill with all of Jason's fam on Saturday! Come on SUN!

Finally Finished!

TA DA! We did it...finally. It kept getting put off, by other random happenings. But we finally finished Makayla's homemade paper mache piggy bank!! I think it turned out super cute.
We ended up doing 3 layers of newspaper, and two layers of tissue paper. Then to finish, we coated it with some clear coat spray, or Shellac...whatever you might call it. It gives it a nice sheen, so it doesn't look quite so "pasty" and rough and dry. I might give it one more coat though.
And I think maybe some little pink foam ears and a curly tail will complete the look. And we still need a cork for the bottom. That will have to wait till I have a car tomorrow though. We're down to one, while the old civic is getting some major repairs. Poor old thing.

There you have it. That was our project for the last 2 weeks...haha. It shouldn't have taken that long, but if you know me....I procrastinate. And sometimes, getting all pasty and messy just isn't on my list of things to do every day.

And thanks to Sheena from The Little Red House's blog for the idea!!

Rainy Day Fun

This is what we are doing today on a very rainy/snowy day.
Can you tell what these will be? We started them last weekend with Dillon and Haylee.

Guessed it yet!?

Well, if you guessed Paper Mache piggy banks, you will have guessed right.
You have no idea how much fun it is to watch 3 children 5 and under paper mache. It's awesome. I let them do 95% of it themselves, I just smooth everything all out when they are done. Good times. And messy times.
Dillon and Haylee are going to finish theirs later next week, so Makayla and I are working on hers today. This is the last newspaper coat before we move onto tissue paper for some sweet colors!
I have polka dots, and nearly every color of the rainbow to choose from, including green with sparkles...oh yeah.

Stay tuned for the finished project in the next day or two!!!

Happy Birthday!

This is perfect. Everyone in my family is asleep right now, dinner just came out of the oven, and it's SO quiet...no better time to blog, right!? Besides, I have something pretty special to blog about!! Or I should say, someONE!

Our sweet little Brooklyn, who I swear is the world's most calm, sweet, happy little baby ever, turned 1 year old yesterday!! We celebrated her birthday 2 days earlier, while her cousins were staying with us for the weekend.

The good morning pic of the birthday girl!!

Trying on her new hat from Grandma...sorry Grandma, her head is GINORMOUS, and it's a little small...but still cute!
"I want that...gimmee!!"
Yup, it's in her hair...that was so much fun to clean up! But look how cute she is!
She LOVED getting all messy and eating her cake. Totally opposite of her sister's first birthday cake experience. Makayla acted as if it were a toxic frosted monster, and hardly touched hers.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKLYN!! We sure do love you, and are so happy you are a part of our little family!!

P.S. remember how I said dinner just came out of the oven, and all was peaceful!? Well, I forgot I had the garlic bread under the broiler, and it is burned to a black crispy crisp. Oh well. So much for my perfect night!
