Jackson Hole

My cutie pie :)

So a few weekends ago, we were bored and decided to take a little day trip up to Jackson Hole. Test out the new car on a trip that's a bit longer than just Salt Lake and back. It was SO much fun. The girls did awesome, the car was great, and the scenery was gorgeous!! Aside from Jason getting pulled over for going 17 over the speed limit, it was perfect. (Thank you Mr. Police man-in the middle of nowhere-for giving a warning!!) But really, 55 miles per hour on a flat open road surrounded by fields? Do you blame him for pushing the pedal a little bit!? ;)

So anyway, we went to the Farmer's market at the town square, had a picnic consisting of Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, ice waters, and grapes, right in the square.
We walked around all of the cute little touristy shops that we've been to many many times before, but still fun to look around in. Plus, now we have kids to spoil..only a little bit though...so that was fun to let Makayla pick out her own little souvenir.
Then we took a drive up past Jackson a little ways to a lookout with the Tetons in the background, where we have a picture of me and Jason from our pre-children days. So we went there to take a family picture. Unfortunately right when we got there, all the people that were there left, so we had no one to take our picture for us. So we each got one with both the kids, but none of us together. :( I was bummed. We couldn't get the self timer on the camera to work either. But it was still fun. Then we made a couple traditional stops on the way back home. Stopped along the Snake at Lunch Counter and Big Kahuna to watch all the people on rafts fall into the raging water! My little brother was up there for youth conference, and he told us what time he went down, and we missed him by only 15 minutes!! That would have been cool to see him go down the river and get a picture. Then stopped at the gas station in Alpine where the road forks, and came this close...to getting some pretty awesome, (utah-illegal) fireworks. Too bad we didn't feel like blowing 75 bucks on ONE firework. But it did look pretty sweet. We regretted not getting it all the way home.

But, we did get us a moose!!

Wait for it...

wait for it...

There's that sexy beast! Isn't he cute!? I think we should name him. Doesn't Morris sound good? Morris the moose? I'm open to any suggestions. But he's on there for good. Family vacations, and what not. So he needs a name!!

I thought this mountain pass was pretty sweet.

Our camera did this coloring all by itself. I think we messed something up trying to get the self timer working...woops. But it does look kinda cool!

Gotta get the Antler Arch pics!

I love the look of this old theater! We didn't see anything this year, but we did see Harry Potter last year when we were up for our Anniversary, without the kids!

Cool old ticket office, with Jason's reflection. A happy accident!

4th Festivities

So, we decided to make the drive down to South Jordan and celebrate Austin's birthday over the weekend. We had a blast, and Makayla got her new chinese pj's from Grandma. Straight from China. They are SO adorable...haha.

Ashley and Makayla both being cute!
Then we made it back home in time (barely) for the Cache Valley Cruise In. A parade of classic cars up and down main street.

Then of course some fireworks!!

My mom's beautiful flower garden that had to be documented. She does such an awesome job with her flowers!

Jen helping Makayla who was VERY unsure of the sparklersBut then she was in love with them and went through about 20!!

I was laughing so hard at this. Jen seriously tried to light this sparkler for about 10 minutes. It would NOT light...haha. We finally decided it was a dud.

Hope everyone had a Happy 4th!!

Funny faces

Just because this made me laugh so hard...I am sharing.

Good morning sunshine!!

This is just cute. Future piano star perhaps? Or fabulous Opera singer? We shall see! She sat and played and sang for almost an hour! Studying sheet music, pounding the keys, and singing me songs.
