A Good AND Bad Weekend

Where do I even begin with this post!?
Jason's mom came out for a visit we've been waiting for for a long time now!  We were all so excited for it, especially Makayla.  She was actually bouncing off the walls at times.  Everything started off so great.  Then it took a slight turn for the worst. 

Here is little B getting ready to eat her lunch.  She seemed completely normal all day. 

Then came one of the scariest moments of my life.

Little B had a seizure.  Her second one.  This one was a bit different and lasted longer.  The entire drive to Instacare, and then in the ambulance ride to the hospital, where she got the rescue meds to stop it. 

So they are thinking it was another febrile seizure, related to a fever that spikes really suddenly and gets really high.  That's what happened the first time, when she had RSV.  But this time, she wasn't sick at all.  And there were a few other things going on afterward that were strange so they did bloodwork and a CT and chest x-rays.  Long story short, we were there about 5 hours.
It was torture watching them try and poke her for the IV, having to restrain her for various tests and things.  And mostly to watch her in that uncontrollable, horrible condition.
We got a referral to go down to Primary Childrens to get her seen by a specialist to see if there is anything else going on, or if it was simply just another febrile seizure.
With my brothers seizure disorder and Jason having had a few, they just want to be thorough.
But after she got home and got some rest, she slowly got back to her normal happy beautiful self.  

Then it was time to get down to business!!  We got a ton of helpful stuff done on the house with Steve's contracting smarts, and Diane's awesome eye for things.

And the weekend ended on a good note!  We had a great time with everyone!  Can't wait for our next trip out to Illinois...hopefully sooner rather than later!
And hopefully next time is a little less eventful...

Missing camera update

The missing camera was found...at the bottom of my purse.  The last place I saw it before that was on the living room floor.  Unless I did it in my sleep, it somehow found it's way into my purse.  I'm grateful my girls don't take after me, when I was their age I apparently threw everything in the garbage...keys, wallets, etc...you know, all the really important stuff :)  I was quite the little stinker.
But for now, I am trying to dig my way back up out of my deep dark hole of school and office work.  So this is all I've got for now.  I am thrilled we don't have to buy a new camera...although this one is on it's last leg.  We're trying to keep it alive as long as possible!
Jason's mom, step-dad and sister arrive in the morning, so I'm sure we'll have some pics to post shortly!

For Now

Well, we are going on day 5...missing camera.
I last saw it Saturday on the living room floor. (I know, not the best place for the camera to be kept.  What can you do with a kid who thinks she is going to be a photographer?  It's always somewhere it should not be.)
But I have taken a few pics on my phone the last couple of days.  Not the greatest, but I don't want them to disappear.  I don't keep alot of pics on my phone at one time.

Not so excited.  See the sling on her arm?  She's already our accident prone child.  She's been x-rayed 6 or 7 times already this year for various different things, had an ultrasound of her brain, had RSV.  Poor thing.  We're keeping our fingers crossed for no more hospital visits this year.

 The girls playing together.  It was so cute.  Kayla was putting stickers all over me and Brooklyn, and Brooklyn was trying to EAT the stickers.

 Makayla's Halloween costume!  She just HAD to try it on, the second she got it in the mail.

 This pic is REALLY horrible, but it looks SO cute in person!  My little Halloween setup downstairs.  The spider is my fave.  The blocks say happy halloween, there is purple/orange decorating wrap with orange lights under/around.  Adorable.

 Who knew diaper boxes could be so much fun!?

 This is my new project.  I should have taken a before pic.  Started with a plain piece of wood, stained it, then added the design...and they will soon be Christmas gifts...I will say no more.

That's it for now.  PLEASE....keep fingers crossed that we will find the camera!  Jason's mom comes next week, and then Halloween and Thanksgiving!  We can't NOT have a camera for all of these things!
And I definitely do not want to buy a new one... :/
Tomorrow= ward party/ chili cook-off.  I am SO going to win it!  Hahahahaha......my mom's chili recipe has never failed!

My Ballerina

Makayla wanted me to do her hair like a fancy Ballerina the other day so that she could dance in her room in her PJ's. So that's what she got! And dance she did.

Well, here it is. I've been busy like crazy with life, and squeezing this in during my spare time. It was ALOT of work, harder than I thought. I thought my arm would never stop buzzing, and that my hand would be permanently formed around the handle of the sander. :)


The beautiful desk for $20!!

Started sanding the top first. Took about 3 days just on the top it had so much old varnish on it.

Got to work on the sides and drawers.

And...DONE! We were worried it wouldn't fit around the corner downstairs. It was a tight fit, but not as bad as we thought!

Total cost, about $60. I couldn't be more proud. Jason bought me all the stuff I needed, and I did all the manual labor...haha. But I'm so glad, now I have a real work space/school space. I LOVE it!! Now we just need a chair...
