This Christmas...

Here are a few highlights from the last week!

We went down to SLC for the Horrocks family Christmas party last week.  We were able to take a short trip to Temple Square and took a whole 2 pictures before the battery on the camera died.

Earlier that day we went to the Gateway and visited Build-A-Bear for part of the girls Christmas gifts from G-ma and G-pa.  Met up with Ash while we were there.  We didn't plan the white coats...but cute huh!?

I don't really know what this face is all about, just silly K-bug.
 It's Christmas!!
Brookie was perfectly happy with her little people car.  She basically could have been fine with just that.
 That's our new puppy Harley!
Makayla changed her PJ's halfway through opening gifts...silly girl.
 Showing off her new puzzle!

This pic is out of order, but this was on the way home from picking up Harley on Christmas Eve.  So far she is an absolute sweetie.  Definitely rambunctious and energetic...and likes to CHEW...but we're making progress on house training already!  She's a smartie!

*thought the camera was broken, and it is, in a way, just the display screen.  So we can't see what the pics look like when we take them, and have to look through the view finder...It definitely won't last long, it's super annoying.  So there might not be many new pics till we can get a new camera.

Baby Blue's

Just because I kind of think my girls are pretty dang cute...and I have nothing else really to post since we've been busy gearing up for the big day!!

I LOVE this pic of Brookie.  She has started to say "cheese" everytime we take her picture now, and this is the face she pulls!  Plus, her hair was all straight this day which it hardly ever is, so I thought it looked cute!

K-bug is so sweet to her sister, always giving her lovies.

Merry Christmas!!

And...done.

Done decorating for Christmas!  It was fun having the girls help this year.  Last year was a disaster as far as them helping went.  This year, much, much better.

Our ledge that runs between the living room and kitchen....18 feet of garland was the EXACT amount...lucked out on having that same amount on hand.
red and gold glittery flowers have since been added, I just haven't taken any more pics.
Makayla helping with the tree.  She was so meticulous and careful.  Adorable.
I might be a little bit in love with our stocking hanger.  Found it at a craft fair 2 years ago...

 Finished!
And a random pic I thought was funny...Makayla did something that made Brooklyn so mad, and K was clueless while B sat and cried behind her...
Today I walked in to find them both sitting like this on the stairs...had to capture it...

Decorating...

Well, we finally got our Christmas lights up on the house!  I'll have to go out and take a pic as soon as it starts to get darker.  After fighting with the icicle lights that would NOT straighten out...we gave up and went with regular white lights.  Next year we'll have to do some prep work on the icicle ones to get them straightened.  Seriously, they were not even hanging down, that's how tightly packaged they were.  It was crazy...and we all know Jason doesn't have the patience to go through and pull on every single strand to get them to hang right, and neither do I for that matter.  But it still looks awesome!!  We still need some lighting around the door, and porch area, and we are even thinking of tackling our gi-nor-mous pine tree in the front yard.  How COOL would that be!?  Jason even had a crazy cool idea for what to use as "ornaments" in the tree.  We are going to wait till next week for that...we are supposed to be getting some crazy wind and snow storms the next few days.  But I think it would look awesome!  It's the only pine tree on the block too, so it would stand out!!

Wreath Party!

Tonight was the 6th year of our wreath party!!  A blast as always.

Ready to go!

People starting to arrive.  We ended up with about 15 I think...

Me and my aunt Karleen!!  LOVE her...she's like a sister.

My creation.  I still need to add a few things, but so far it's looking good!

Till next year!!

First Snow

On Friday we got the first snowfall of the season.  And it was enough to make a snowman and an igloo in our front yard!  Makayla was beyond excited to go out and play, and since me and Brooklyn weren't, Jason went out!  He and K-bug stayed out for almost 2.5 hours!  They played, threw snowballs, built a snowman and an igloo.  A very very small igloo, but still cool.

I love this picture.  Our snowman is really sad...but she loved it.

The igloo before it was shaped and hollowed out.   I guess technically it's more of a little snow cave.  But she called it her little igloo.  So little igloo it was!

Then the next day, we just sat around all day and pretty much did nothing.  We loved it!  It was yucky weather outside, so we didn't even want to get out of our PJ's.

Brooklyn's new face she pulls.  So funny.
 Her "cheeese!" face.
I don't have a clue what Kayla was doing here...but I love it.

That was our weekend.  Not much, but good quality fun.

Cousin night

So last week, G&K had a FANTASTIC idea, which I'm surprised no one had come up with sooner.  We decided to do a babysitting trade, where once a month, each of us takes ALL the cousins.  And the other 2 couples get to have a date night.  Babysitting starts to get pretty pricey when you have more than one kid, and you are gone for 2 or more hours, AND you pay for dinner and or a movie or whatever.  Yikes.  But we are pretty excited that we get the next two weekends for a date night!  We've been struggling to find sitters so we can go out.  Thus, we haven't had a real date night in a long time.  I have high hopes that we can get some good Christmas shopping done, and maybe a night out for dinner!  It's going to be awesome.  If nothing else, we can have some real adult time, even if it's just going shopping for groceries without kids!!  That will be major for me, since I usually go by myself WITH both girls, and it's usually a disaster.
We started it off with all the kids coming to our house so G&K and G&J could go on a date.  We made oreo turkeys.  Good times.  The kids loved them.  Kayla and Haylee made theirs and then promptly ate them, while Dillon tried to make his last as long as possible.  I think he ended up eating it though before he left.

She informed me that she was "angster".  I think she was going for "gangsta."  Still cute though!
They were all quite pleased with their final result.

TWO date nights coming up!!  I am so excited!
