Last week was really hard. I got a call from my mom on Sunday night telling me they were life flighting my Grandpa down to the hospital in SLC. Within 2 days, he was gone. It all happened so fast, that it almost didn't seem real. But I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with him those last two days. He was able to come home and be with all of his family in his last few hours. He was laughing and joking up till the end. We had some special moments with him, before all of the family got there. (we have a REALLY big extended family). I'll never forget the last thing he said to me. We were leaving for the night, and he was still awake and concious, and I said "Grandpa, we're taking off!" And he said "You be careful how much you take off!!" I laughed SO hard, and so did the whole room. It was such a "Grandpa" moment.
We'll miss you Grandpa! You were such a hero to us all. We will never forget your love for fire, explosions, burning things, yelling at the horses, rocking grandkids to sleep, your big bear growls, your prickly whiskers, and your wonderful sense of humor and your love for your sweetheart.

I love these pictures Nellie! It has been so good to spend time with you and your family this past week. I hope we can all see each other more often. I think Grandpa would like that.
I was really sorry to hear of your Grandpa's passing. He was such a great man. I hope your Grandma is holding up okay. She's such a wonderful lady.
I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your grandpa! But I'm so happy that you were able to spend time with him before he passed! How special. He was such a nice and funny guy. I always liked having dinner at your grandparents' house.
My grandpa died just over a year ago. Losing a grandparent is so sad. :(
