Who knew?

My mom has a wreath party every year, and the last 2 years, I struggle every time with being creative and crafty. I made regular, pretty wreaths, with evergreen, and ribbon, and pretty glittery flowers and such. And usually, I had to have my crafty mom do most of the work.
Using hot glue guns?
Wire?
Fake flowers?
Making bows from ribbon!?
Help!
I always liked to think of myself as somewhat crafty. But every year, I am reminded that I'm not as talented as I thought myself to be. And only about once every year, around this time do I feel the need to actually BE crafty. So this year, I wanted to do something a little bit different. I got the idea from a well known "crafty person's" (to say the least) magazine...cough...Martha...cough...

So I made a few changes and had this really pretty picture in my head of how it was going to look. I started out and thought, oh crap. This is going to be tricky. Then about 25 minutes later, I had made pretty much zero progess and realized I would be spending almost the entire night at my mom's house glueing balls onto a bunch of ribbon. Great fun.

....about 2 hours later, after most people had left, I was finally finished. Hooray!! It didn't turn out exactly as I had pictured it in my head, but it's pretty close.

The picture doesn't really do it justice...it's really all pretty and shiny and happy on my wall. I promise.

And don't worry, I've already gone through a certain magazine....and figured out what I want to try next year..."Mooooommmmmm.....I need heelllllppppp....." (This was said alot last year...though not quite as much this year...yay!)

And along with the "Christmas-y" sort of theme, we mailed out our Christmas cards the other day. We haven't done that like...ever...you know, the ones with a cute family picture, printed onto a card...yikes. But we did it. And I should have printed more, I didn't think we'd use all the ones we printed, but I kept remembering people that we should send to, and then after we ran out of pictures, I remembered about 15 more. So, I'm posting the pic on here, because in addition to those 15 people that I neglected, there are all my online blogger friends!

Merry Christmas!! Love, us!

You did great on your wreath! I have to admit...I am not the most crafty person either. I think I would be the LAST person you would want to ask for help in that area. :)
